Privacy policy
Who this covers
This website is run by Jennifer Briongos of Own Digital Marketing (“I” or “me”). This policy explains what information I collect when you visit the site or contact me, how I use it, and the choices you have. If you have a question, email hello@owndigitalmarketing.com.
What I collect
When you get in touch. If you use the contact form, I receive your name, email address, business website (if you add one), and your message. Netlify, which handles the form, also records your IP address, browser type, the page you sent it from, and the time you sent it.
When you visit. Like most websites, this one collects some information automatically:
- Analytics. I use Google Analytics to see how people use the site: pages viewed, how you found the site, roughly where you are (city or region), and your device and browser. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this.
- Fonts. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.
- Hosting. My web host, Netlify, processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and keep it secure.
How I use it
- To reply to your message and to talk with you about the services you ask about.
- To understand which parts of the site are useful, and improve them.
- To keep the site secure and filter out spam.
I don’t sell your personal information, and I don’t use it to make automated decisions about you.
Who I share it with
I share information only with the services that help me run this site and my business:
- Netlify, which hosts the site, receives contact form messages, and checks them for spam (using Akismet).
- Google, which provides analytics and the site’s fonts.
- My email forwarding service and email provider, which deliver and store email sent to this site’s address.
These providers handle information under their own privacy policies. I may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
Google Analytics sets cookies, and Google may collect information about your activity over time and across different websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. This site doesn’t currently change how it works in response to Do Not Track signals.
How long I keep it
I keep messages only as long as I need them to reply to you and for my business records, and I’ll delete them sooner if you ask. Analytics data is kept for a limited period set in Google Analytics.
Your choices
You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email hello@owndigitalmarketing.com and I’ll respond as soon as I can.
Children
This site is for businesses and isn’t meant for children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Security
The site is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and I use established providers to host it and handle messages. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect what you share with me.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I’ll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
